Jefferson Westside Neighbors (JWN) is the City-chartered neighborhood for the area roughly between W. 7th and 18th Avenues and between Chambers Street and Lawrence/Willamette Streets. Jefferson Westside is also the 2010 neighborhood of the year award winner. Great family friendly neighborhood and close to downtown and Whiteaker. Walk to fabulous restaurants and 2 farmer's markets! This neighborhood has a 100 walk score. You could live here without a car easily.

I could write a book about the positives of living in this location. There are a few things to consider before choosing this as your new hood. There is a large and growing population of unhoused, mentally compromised, and drug/alcohol addicted people in Eugene Oregon. The city has been incredible in creating resources and help for this crisis. As of today, there are 262 beds available for anyone in need. The Jefferson Westside and the Whitaker see a larger amount of this population than in other areas. The city of Eugene and Springfield and the people who live here have been compassionate and inspiring in how they have chosen to respond to the housing crisis.
